About our mission
Hello from KANSAS CITY, MO!
We are excited to share with you the latest updates on our journey here in Kansas City with YWAMKC. To begin, we want to express our gratitude to Jesus. Our hearts are filled with joy and contentment as we’ve never felt more in tune with God’s purpose for our family. We firmly believe that God has led us to this place at this time, and it’s a privilege to serve Him both in the Kansas City area and in different nations.
First things first.
Our first ministry is to minister to the Lord, and we are deeply passionate about seeing His purposes and will being fulfilled on Earth. Our ultimate desire is to see His Kingdom transform lives, and our commitment is to remain obedient to Him.
What is YWAMKC?
As a base we fall under the greater umbrella of Youth With a Mission International, but function independently, as do all YWAM bases around the globe. As a whole, YWAM’s mission is “To know God and make Him known.” We serve the same purpose, with an emphasis on calling the lost both locally and abroad, instilling Biblical worldview, equipping and commissioning young people into missions.
What is our role?
From the get go, we are realizing how many opportunities we have to serve. So we are constantly evaluating and praying for the Lord’s guidance on where to devote ourselves. That said, our heart is to surrender this time to be servants wherever we are needed and to lift the loads of the leaders around us.
David
David works full-time serving the YWAM KC community in different capacities. The work at our missions base is very dynamic; there is always something to be done. Most days David works as a part of a team of volunteers who seek to bring the gospel to the next generation and equip them to be effective messengers of the kingdom of God.
David and his team engage in evangelism through different outlets, different outreach events and local outreach ministry. They are in charge of mission mobilization as well as providing discipleship opportunities for the youth in a variety of contexts. He also serves the discipleship schools by helping mentor and disciple students. He loves working with the youth and inspiring them in their walk with God on a day to day basis.
Anna
Anna is currently dedicating her time to caring for Davito, Gabriela, and their newborn baby, Joel, while also providing assistance as needs arise on the base. She feels deeply humbled by the opportunity to be part of a wonderful community of women who share a common goal: to foster a Kingdom culture within their base, their city, and around the world.

Equipping the next generation
Our mission is deeply personal; it's about empowering and equipping the next generation to help them discover their unique calling. We wholeheartedly believe in nurturing young minds and hearts, ensuring they have the knowledge, skills, and values they need to not just survive but thrive in an ever-changing world. We're committed to investing in the development of our youth, aiming to build a strong foundation for a brighter future where they can become leaders, change-makers, and faithful servants in the service of God and their communities.
Locally
We're passionate about seizing opportunities to spread the message of the gospel. Whether it's through organized outreaches or spontaneous encounters, we are always on the lookout for chances to evangelize and make a positive impact. We firmly believe in staying faithful to the great commission, not just globally but also right here in our local community.
Apart from YWAM, We have connected with AntiochKC, a new Antioch church plant out of Waco, Texas. Our heart is to encourage and connect with them as they continue pressing into what God has called them to establish here! (Click here to learn more about the AntiochKC.)
Ecuador
We are actively engaged in supporting missionary efforts in Ecuador. Our commitment extends beyond financial contributions; we are deeply involved in intercessory prayer, equipping, and providing encouragement to further God’s work in the nation of Ecuador. Our aspiration is to eventually dedicate ourselves to full-time service in Ecuador in the coming years. We are seeking the Lord’s guidance to discern His timing and His strategic plan for our mission there.
The Nations
We hold firm to the conviction that it is our calling to spread the gospel of the Kingdom of God to every nation, obeying Jesus’ command to “Go.” Our passion is to disciple individuals, regardless of their location, with the goal of seeing Jesus receive His rightful inheritance in every nation. We are committed to laboring in fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) until we are no longer able to do so. Additionally, we maintain a global perspective, actively working to raise up messengers of Jesus from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
We've had opportunities to invest in young individuals through financial gifts, mentorship, scholarships, service, and online equipping sessions in various countries around the world. We are excited to continue to respond to opportunities that help young people in their journey to obey God.
